Gruppenausstellung - Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo

20. Juli - 20. Oktober 2019

Playing is only something for children and later rather unproductive. But is that true? Not at all, because games inspire creative thinking and lead to new ideas and solutions. These often overlooked benefits of playing are the subject of the current group show Now, it's time to play at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo to which Yoshiaki Kaihatsu was invited to participate. With his Juke no kabe (Wall of exams) - built from cabinets and chests of drawers typical in Japan and Korea - Kaihatsu points in a playful and admonishing way to the psychological stress of young students in the face of the many, future-oriented school examinations.
